Synthetic oil in a lawn mower is acceptable. Most manufacturers will warn against using it, but the outcome in generally the same as a non-synthetic oil. If leaking occurs, return to a non-synthetic oil. Briggs & Stratton as well as Troybilt and Honda mowers will generally run on a 10W-30 synthetic without instances of leakage.
