Evergreen plants (such as lavender, English ivy and a variety of foliage shrubbery) make excellent choices for growth in the United Kingdom, as evergreens will grow in sun or shade and a variety of climate conditions, including frost. Evergreen plants require very little maintenance. Caring for an evergreen plant in the United Kingdom is a simple process that does not require specialized gardening skills.
Add 2 cups of good potting soil (available at any home and garden center) to the soil surrounding your evergreen.
Fill a watering can with 1 1/2 cups lukewarm tap water.
Use your watering can to lightly shower the evergreen plant. Do not thoroughly saturate the plant, as a light shower is all that the plant needs.
Repeat the watering process every three days. If you receive rain, you may skip watering the evergreen for three additional days.
Remove dead, rotting leaves and branches from your evergreen to ensure proper growth and health of your plant.
