How to Decorate with Gerbera Daisies

Gerbera daisies are the most commonly used daisies by florists, with good reason. These brightly colored cost-efficient flowers come in a range of colors including white, red, yellow, orange and even purple, and have blooms from 2 to 4 inches in size with yellow centers that are visibly striking even from a distance. These warm and friendly flowers create the perfect centerpiece for any occasion, dressing up a table with their bright colors, and can be used to make a bold statement indoors as well.

How to Decorate with Gerbera Daisies

Step 1

Fill a glass vase with different-colored marbles and water, and place gerbera daisies in it. Match them according to the colors in the room, or mix different brightly colored daisies. If you want varying lengths, simply trim half to 1 inch off the stems of several daisies with a sharp pair of scissors. Place the vase in the kitchen, living room, windowsill of your bedroom or on any table or counter to add a splash of color.

Step 2

Decorate your bedroom or entrance by filling a large glass bowl with water, tops of different colored gerbera daisies and floating candles. The combined effect of floating daisies along with the flickering light of candles creates the perfect centerpiece. You can also use several bowls with single-colored gerbera daisies and place these in a few strategic places.

Step 3

Place two to four long-stemmed gerbera daisies in clear long vases in the bathroom to add color to the place and naturally freshen it up. Mix different colors together, use single bold colors or white alone for a classy look. Wrap matching ribbon or raffia around the vases for enhanced beauty and style.

Step 4

Gerbera daisies can also be used to decorate cakes. Mist the tops of several daisies gently to remove any dust or dirt off them and place them around the decorative platter you are serving your cake on, or even on a particular corner of the cake. Use a few colored tops over white iced cakes, or white tops over chocolate iced cakes, for an unusual but stylish decoration. You can also place them in each layer for a tiered cake.

Step 5

If you have a pond or pool in your yard, you can add visual interest to it by adding colorful tops of gerbera daisies in the water so they can float about and add color to it.
