Overview

Rock mulch is an attractive choice in many landscaping areas. It lasts for years without needing to be replenished in the same way you must replenish organic mulch. It also controls weeds effectively when applied in a thick layer. One difficulty gardeners often encounter with rock mulch, however, is keeping it free of leaves and debris. With regular maintenance, you can clean rock mulch in a landscape and keep it looking fresh and attractive.

Step 1

Pull weeds promptly to prevent them from becoming large and spreading. Discard the weeds in the trash bag.

Step 2

Use the leaf blower to dislodge leaves when they settle among the rocks.

Step 3

Vacuum the loosened leaves with the leaf vacuum.

Step 4

Spray the rock mulch with water using a garden hose to remove dirt.
