How to Trim a Yucca Tree

Overview

Varieties of yucca trees grow all over the U.S. They are hardy through zones 4 to 11, so it is no wonder this tree is so wide spread. Caring for yucca trees is easy overall as long as they have dry soil and plenty of sun. If you grow a yucca tree, you need to know how to trim it to make it a more attractive specimen. Like the rest of this plant's care, however, trimming a yucca tree is easy.

Step 1

Prune your yucca tree in the early spring. Trim off any dead leaves at the base of the yucca tree.

Step 2

Trim back any broken yucca tree leaves at the base of the tree.

Step 3

Trim off the flower stalk when it is finished flowering. Cut it off at the base of the yucca tree.
