What Items Can You Put in a Composter?

Materials that are appropriate for a compost tumbler or pile include organic items from plants and animals, along with dryer lint, wood, nut shells, bark and grass. Non-pet manure can also be used, as well as paper items, coffee grounds, hair, wool and cotton.
