Ideas for Garden Designs

Gardens can a beautiful and dramatic focal point to your landscape while providing a home for wildlife, including birds and butterflies. Creating a garden path will invite you in for evening strolls and create the perfect spot to sit when planting new plants and flowers. Adding an edible garden to your landscape will create a beautiful space for growing your favorite veggies. In and around your edible garden, add solar lights to create a warm glow at night.

Water Feature

Water features create a relaxing and soothing sound in your garden while adding an inviting and lush appearance. You can make your own water feature using an old birdbath, making this a simple and affordable project. The main items are the pump and container to hold and circulate the water. Add water and a few colorful plants and you have a creative water feature. When the fountain is running, the water will attract wildlife, including birds.

Edible Garden

Create an edible garden for growing your own vegetables. Plant tomatoes and squash for making soups. Sweet pea and bean vines will add height in the back of the garden bed while producing yummy vegetables. Edible gardens can also add charm to an existing garden landscape. Plant the vegetables in between a set of blooming hydrangeas or flowers. Use containers and planters for growing zucchini and cucumbers, which will cascade out of the pots and into the garden space.

Create a garden pathway using pavers to lead you to your garden space. Lay the stones every 1 to 2 feet to create an inviting pathway to enjoy. In between each stone, plant a colorful ground cover. Creeping jasmine will provide a sweet-smelling design in between the pavers and down the path. For an added garden feature, plant colorful flowers along the path as a makeshift border.
