Why grow head lettuce that you can but in the store? Because it tastes A LOT better grown at home. Summertime, a spring/summer head lettuce has medium sized, 6" heads and is very heat/bolt resistant, something uncommon but very important for head lettuce. CONTAINER VARIETY. This packet plants: 4 -10 foot rows or 2 -10 spring & fall plantings.

When to Sow Outside: Early Spring, 3 to 4 weeks before last frost, or 10 weeks before first fall frost. USDA zone 8 or warmer (southwest, south): fall for winter harvest.
When to Sow Inside: Six weeks before last frost or late summer planting (seeds don't germinate well in very warm summer soils.)
