Bean - Pole, Snap - Romano

Romano has an unsurpassed beany/nutty flavor that makes it worthy of a place in every vegetable garden. Pole beans produce more beans in less space than bush beans, so this is a great choice for the small garden. Grow pole beans on a trellis, or arrange poles in a teepee shape to conserve space. Quick-growing crops that prefer cool weather or a little shade (such as lettuce) can be planted inside the teepee and harvested before the vines completely shade out the sun.
