Dill Seeds
(Anethum Graveolens)
Bouquet
This popular variety of dill is perfect for pickling because it produces large seed heads early in the season. It also produces an abundance of fresh foliage for use in salads or sprinkled on meats and vegetables. Swallowtail butterflies are attracted to dill.
Plant dill seeds directly where you want the plant to grow in spring, after the last frost. Press seeds into the surface of the soil about 1" apart in rows 2' apart. Thin to 12" apart when 3" tall. Continue to sow every 2 - 3 weeks until hot weather sets in to assure a constant supply of fresh foliage and seeds. Seeds can take 20-25 days to emerge. Dill doesn't transplant well.
