Instructions for Tiered Patio Planter Continued
Power Cable
Make sure the power cable is clear of the saw.
Caution
Switch off the power before moving the workpiece.
4. Clamp the electric compound miter saw on the portable workbench,
check that it is stable, and set the machine to cut at an angle of
60°. Cut all the shelves to length.
Screw position
Make sure you do not put a screw
close to the end of the support
Shelf Center
Align the ends of the shelves with the center-line of the supports
Shelf Position
Butt the shelves together on the center-line
5. Starting at the bottom tier and working upwards, set the shelf
boards in place on the supports, with the butted ends of the
shelves meeting the center-line of the supports. Screw in place
with 1 1/2 inch (38 mm) screws.
Screwdriver
You might need to use a hand screwdriver at this point if your
cordless driver is too big.

6. Fasten the two bracket pieces in place in the angle on the
underside of the top shelf, using 2 inch (50 mm) screws. Finally,
rub down the wood to remove the splinters, give it a thin wash of
acrylic paint and brush on the clear preservative.
