Butterfly Bush - Garden Basics - Flower - Perennial

Hardiness: Zones 5 to 9
Bloom Time: Summer
Propagation: Semi-hardwood cuttings in midsummer.
Uses: Hedges, accents, beds & borders. Attract butterflies, deer tend to avoid.

Plants are very drought tolerant and will survive in some pretty tough situations.
Cut back at least once a year. In warm climates, cutting back after the plant finishes blooming may encourage another flush of blooms.
Buddleia makes a wonderful cutflower, and lasts about a week in the vase. Cut when half the flowers on the stem are open, but before they begin to fade.
