Marmaliga Recipe

Step 1

In a saucepan combine first 5 ingredients.

Step 2

Bring to a boil, stirring constantly and cook until butter is melted and mixture is thick, about 15--20 minutes.

Step 3

Serve topped with a spoonful of cottage cheese and sour cream. (Marmaliga can also be served plain or sprinkled with grated Parmesan Cheese.)

Serves 6.

  • 2c Water
  • 2c Milk
  • 1ts Salt
  • 1c Yellow cornmeal
  • 1/4c Butter/margerine
  • Cottage Cheese (Optional)
  • Sour Cream (Optional)
  • Grated Parmesan Cheese (Optional)
