Overview

You can have this quick and easy soup ready whenever you have surprise guest coming up. This soup has all the available ingredients from home. This calls for ground meat, bouillon, peppers, tomatoes, sauces and I am sure you'll have no left overs at the end.

Step 1

In 5 quart dutch oven, brown beef and drain. Stir in remaining ingredients; bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour or until vegetables tender. Remove bay leaves.

Things You'll Need

  • 1 1 ½ lbs lean ground beef
  • 1 1/3 Cup barley (medium)
  • 1 6 Cups water
  • 1 1 tsp salt
  • 1 5 beef bouillon cubes
  • 1 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 1 2 Cups sliced carrots
  • 1 2 bay leaves
  • 1 1 ½ Cups chopped onions
  • 1 ¼ Cup ketchup
  • 1 1 ½ Cups chpped celery
  • 1 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 ½ Cup chopped green pepper
  • 1 ½ Cup chopped green pepper
  • 1 2 cans undrained stewed, diced or whole tomatoes (28 oz) I chop them up in my chopper.
