Sidney's Cornbread Recipe

Step 1

Sift the dry ingredients together in a bowl. Add the eggs and milk and beat with a spoon until the mixture is just moist. Beat in the cream and melted butter. (Do not over beat. ) Pour the batter into an 8 1/2 x 11-inch buttered pan. Bake at 400-degrees for 15 to 20 minutes.

Step 2

Yield: approximately 12 pieces.

  • 1/2c Sifted flour
  • 1 1/2c Yellow cornmeal
  • 1ts Salt
  • 2ts Sugar
  • 3ts Baking powder
  • 3 Eggs, beaten lightly
  • 1c Milk
  • 1/4c Cream
  • 1/2c Butter, melted
