Grandma Ruby's Ice Box Rolls Recipe

Step 1

Mix sugar and butter and one beaten egg. 6 to 8 cups of flour. Leave out for two hours in warm place. Put in refrigerator. Leave rolls out of ice

Valerie's Note: I guess she means the shortening when she says to mix the butter. . . I guess you could use butter instead of shortening. I guess you would add the water with the flour. . . .

  • 1/2c Sugar
  • 1tb Salt (level)
  • 1c Shortening or butter (scant)
  • 2c Warm water
  • 1 Yeast cake Fleishmans
  • 6 To 8 cups of flour
