Spiced Peaches Recipe

Traditional partner for meat. You can pickle pears and crabapples same way.

Step 1

Cook sugar, vinegar, and spices 20 minutes. Drop in peaches a few at a time, and cook until tender. Pack boiling hot into hot, sterilized jars, adding boiling syrup to within 1/2 inch of top. Seal immediately. Makes 6 pints.

Things You'll Need

  • 5c Brown sugar
  • 2c White vinegar
  • 6 Inches stick cinnamon
  • 2tb Whole cloves
  • 4qt Peeled whole peaches
