Banana Bread Recipe

Overview

Banana bread is a sweet, cakelike bread which contains mashed bananas. Banana bread is a quick bread which typically uses baking soda as the leavening agent instead of yeast. Rather than dough, the bread is baked from thick batter, which does not require kneading. Banana bread is usually baked in a rectangular loaf pan.

Step 1

Mix well together.

Step 2

Bake in well greased bread loaf pan for 1 hour at 350°F.

Step 3

Cool

Step 4

When just lukewarm to the touch put in a bag and seal.

  • 1 1 1/4 c Sugar
  • 1 1/2 c Butter
  • 1 3 Eggs
  • 1 3 mashed Bananas
  • 1 3/4 c Water
  • 1 3 c Flour
  • 1 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1 1/2 c Nuts (optional)
