Is a Princess Tree a Native, Invasive or Introduced Plant?

Princess tree, or Empress Tree, is a native of China and was introduced to the United States in the 1800s for use as a landscape or ornamental tree. Princess Tree quickly spreads by roots or seeds and is considered invasive in the Southeast and potentially invasive in the Northeast.
