Maintaining a lawn or garden would be almost impossible without your trusty garden hose. Carrying buckets to water your flowers and rinse your sidewalks and driveways is a thing of the past. Water hoses make life for a gardener and housekeeper a breeze. Simply pull the garden hose to your work area and an endless supply of water is at your finger tips. But storing the garden hose can be a headache. Installing a garden hose reel to the side of your home, garage or outbuilding is an easy, no-hassle way to neatly store a garden hose.
Using duct tape, temporarily secure the garden hose reel to the area on your home, garage or out building where it will be installed.
Use a pencil to mark where the holes will be drilled.
Remove the garden hose reel from the installing area and use a power drill with a drill bit to create holes in the proper locations. Depending upon the material you are drilling through, you may need a heavy-duty drill bit.
Place the garden hose reel over the drilled holes and insert the screws. You may use a power drill with the appropriate drill bit to insert the screws, or use a handheld screwdriver instead.
Place the garden hose on the reel when complete to ensure that it has been properly secured.
