Making Spicy Bean Hot Pot
Place the pot on the stove and preheat to high.
Add the oil until hot then add the garlic and onion. Stir them until the onions are translucent.
Stir in the dry spices (cumin, chili powder and cayenne) and saute for another 1-2 minutes.
Add the tomatoes, tomato paste, and hot pepper sauce. Stir well and bring to a simmer. This will take about 5 minutes.
Add the beans and fold in well. If too dry add a little bit of water.
Cook until the beans are thoroughly heated, about 15 minutes, stirring periodically.
Taste and season with salt, pepper or additional spices as needed.
Scoop into a warm bowl and top with cheddar cheese and enjoy.
