How to Make Microwave Crab Dip

This is a great dip to prepare in the summertime, because it uses the microwave for preparation instead of baking in a conventional oven. If you prefer a browned top on the dip, just pop under the broiler for 2-3 minutes after removing from microwave.

How to Make Microwave Crab Dip

Step 1

Rinse and drain crab meat, then place in 1-quart microwave-safe casserole dish.

Step 2

In small bowl, combine softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, Parmesan, sour cream, green onion and parsley.

Step 3

Stir well to combine, then add to crab in casserole dish.

Step 4

Cover dish with lid or wax paper, then microwave on 70% power for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring halfway through.

Step 5

Remove from microwave, and serve with sesame crackers or Ry Krisp.

Tips and Warnings

For a low fat version, use lite sour cream, cream cheese and mayonnaise. If you broil the dip after microwaving, watch carefully and check color after 1 minute.
