Candles are a great way to fill up a room with the holiday spirit. However, holiday custom candles can be expensive, particularly if they have detailed designs. You can make your own glittering, Christmas candles with candles and other art supplies that you already have around the house. The gleaming pictures on these candles are extremely detailed and sparkle whether or not the candles are lit.
Cut the Santa design out of the holiday napkin. You can include any background that you want. The more detail and attention you put into cutting out the designs, the more elaborate your candle will appear.
Mix the glitter, glue and water in the bowl. Use 3 parts glue to 1 part water, and as much or as little glitter as you like. The more glitter you use, the more sparkly your candle will be.
Use the glue mixture to paint over the napkin cut out on the candle. Use plenty of glue to make sure that the napkin sticks to the candle. As you paint the glue mixture on, the napkin will appear to melt into the candle and it will appear that the design on the napkin has actually been painted onto the candle.
Allow the candle to dry for 24 hours. If you notice that the paper starts peeling up, then use a little bit of undiluted glue to keep the edges down. Once the glue has dried completely, you can light the candle and begin enjoying your beautiful creation.
