How to Make a Candle Centerpiece for Christmas With Garland

Making a beautiful candle centerpiece for Christmas can make any table stand out. Using garland to embellish the centerpiece is simple. In the end, you will be left with a gorgeous craft that you will want to use again and again. Follow these steps to make your own centerpiece creation.

Instructions

Step 1

Take your garland and wrap it around the outer edge of the white dinner plate. Cut any excess garland. Place the cut piece to the side. Wrap the garland around the inner part of the dinner plate. Cut this again leaving just a little extra. You will only be using the two cut pieces of garland for your candle centerpiece. Any extra pieces of garland can be used for your Christmas tree.

Step 2

Glue your last cut piece of garland on the inner edge of the dinner plate. Hold it in place for at least one minute until the glue is dry. This will give the inner edge of your candle centerpiece a fuller quality. You can fluff up the silver garland now or you can wait until Step 5.

Step 3

Glue the outer edge garland around the outer edge of the dinner plate. This is best done in 2-inch sections so the silver garland will hold better. Let each section dry before adding another section of glue. The silver garland should look as if it is hanging over the edges of the dinner plate. There should not be space between the inner and outer garland edges.

Step 4

Place your fake poinsettia flower heads with holly berries in a triangular shape on the plate. Place in between the garland sections. Glue these flower heads into place. Hold approximately one minute for each flower head to dry.

Step 5

Fluff up the garland with your fingers by pulling outwards gently. Place your candles on the flat surface of the plate inside the garland. Put your Christmas candle centerpiece in the middle of your table for a lovely centerpiece. Visitors will wonder where you got such a gorgeous centerpiece.

Tips and Warnings

Try different colors for a unique effect. For example, red garland and gold poinsettias with green candles still has a Christmas feel. Never leave lit candles unattended.
