How to Bake Potato Chips

Save yourself some daily calories and bake your own potato chips. They taste just as delicious and take only a few minutes to prepare. Flavor your homemade potato chips with a variety of dry spices to satisfy any craving. They make a great afternoon snack or serve them as a quick and easy side dish with hamburgers or hot dogs.

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 2

Peel the potato and slice it into thin slices about 1/8 inch thick. Use a food processor with slicing capabilities if available; otherwise use a sharp knife and slice the potato by hand.

Step 3

Dip a pastry brush into the oil and brush each potato slice.

Step 4

Sprinkle salt onto the potatoes. Add additional seasonings such as pepper, seasoning salt, dried herbs or powdered cheese.

Step 5

Spray a cookie sheet or other flat baking pan with cooking spray. Arrange the potato chips onto the pan so that the slices are not touching.

Step 6

Place the potato chips into the oven and bake for 15 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove the chips from the pan and place on a wire rack to cool.
