It's always important to stay healthy. Part of staying healthy is to eat right and take vitamins. Something else that you can add to your list is aloe vera. Aloe vera is a gel substance that is inside aloe vera plants. The plants can be grown at home and can be used medicinally. Once the leaf is opened, the aloe gel can be scooped out and put directly onto any burn, cut, scratch, bite or sunburn. The aloe gel can also be consumed to ease Crohn's disease and irritable bowel syndrome, to lower cholesterol and to help in the fight against cancer. If you don't have an aloe plant, you can purchase canned aloe gel. The aloe can simply be eaten with a spoon, but you can also make a delicious and healthy drink with it.
Strawberry Honey Aloe Smoothie
Place strawberries and lemon juice into a blender. Blend until the strawberries are mashed.
Add the ginger tea and honey to the blender and blend the ingredients together.
Add the aloe to the mixture and blend so all the ingredients mix well.
Taste the smoothie. The strawberries, honey and lemon juice act as natural sweeteners; if you still need a little sugar, add 1 tsp. of sugar to the mixture and blend together.
Add the crushed ice to the smoothie in the blender. Blend completely. Pour the smoothie into a glass and enjoy,
Green Tea and Aloe Smoothie
Put the mango slices, water and green tea into the blender. Blend together to puree the mango.
Add the canned aloe gel to the blender and blend completely.
Add the ice and blend until a smoothie consistency forms. Taste the smoothie. If more sugar is needed, add 1 tsp. of sugar at a time.
Pour the smoothie into a glass a drink.
