There are a variety of choices for one to consider when looking for the perfect backyard lighting. Your own terrain conditions, size, location, and other factors will all play a part in your own personal choice. However, the bottom line is that your backyard will finally be the haven you want.
There are different electric lighting options that can withstand some of the toughest weather conditions. Use a freestanding outdoor lamp or string a strand of electric lights around your columns or deck rails. Fixtures that attach to the side of the house are also great options, especially if you need light close to the door.
Candles are a great way to add "softness" to your outdoor setting. The warm, beautiful glow of a candle can be played up or down, aiming at either a dramatic effect, or a more subtle effect. When using candles, always be sure to use safety precautions.
Torches are another common choice when it comes to backyard lighting. They come in a variety of styles and are very easy to maintain. They give off a similar glow to that of a candle, but offer more light.
Using a battery-powered lighting fixture in the backyard will help you obtain the same ambience as a candle, but are worry-free in comparison. A majority of batteries used in backyard battery-power fixtures are made to last a very long time. However, you might do your research first to make sure you are getting the best one.
If you are more geared toward helping the environment, then solar lighting might be the best option for your backyard. There is quite a variety of eco-friendly lighting to choose from, all of which contain solar panels that use the sun to charge up during the day, then automatically come on when darkness approaches.
