There are many times during your life that you may need a "for sale" sign. You may have a garage full of things that you either don't use or don't plan to use and want to get rid of. Maybe an old car that hasn't run in a while needs to be sold, or you might need to sell your home. The most profitable way to get rid of your items is to sell them. Now, you need to make for-sale signs to help sell your items. This is an excellent way to advertise your sale.
Decide where you will place your for-sale signs. Make sure that you have on hand the necessities you will need to post these signs. Also, be sure to keep tract of where you place your signs. That way when you have sold your item, you can take these signs down easily. Avoid placing anything on your signs that would distract the person reading it from the information you are trying to convey. A good rule of thumb is to mark what you are selling, where you are selling it and when the sale is on the sign.
Use bright and colorful signs with large bold lettering to attract more attention. Be sure to use large poster boards or corrugated plastic sheets, as well, for people to see it. The plastic corrugated sheets stand up against outside elements better. This is a better choice if your signs must be posted outside for a few days. You also want your sign large enough that someone from a moving car will be able to see it clearly.
Mount signs to a stake of wood to be placed in the ground or place your sign on something that is sturdy enough to resist wind. Check with your local government office if there are fees you have to pay to put up these signs. Never place your signs in someones lawn with out their consent. If using the corrugated plastic, stay away from using the tall wire frames, which are commonly used with the plastic. These are very flimsy and will bow over if a strong wind should come along. Use low-profile wire stakes instead. This not only helps to prevent your sign from bowing over, it makes your sign more attractive, as well.
