Dremel Tools for Aluminum

Dremel is the top-selling rotary tool in the United States. It can "carve, grind, polish, trim, sand, cut a wide range of materials, shape, sharpen, clean, remove grout, smooth, drill, rout, sculpt, engrave, and strip finishes," as noted at the Dremel website. There are hundreds of accessories and bits available, and some are even specialized for specific materials such as aluminum.

Engraving Cutters

Cutters of various size and shapes are available for detail engraving, carving and routing in wood, fiberglass, plastic and soft metals. They come in 1/8-inch shafts.

Stainless Steel Brushes

Stainless steel brushes are used for cleaning and do not leave rust marks when used on aluminum.

Nylon Bristle Brush

Nylon bristle brushes are used for cleaning and polishing precious metals. These brushes can be used with or without a polishing compound.

Cutting Wheels

Cutting wheels work on a variety of metals. "Cut-off wheels make it easy to cut or slot bolts, screws, sheet metal, thin wood, and plastic," according to the Dremel website. It adds, "The cut-off wheel cuts only along its edge. Do not attempt to sand or cut curved holes with them."

Cutting Bit

The cutting bit is a high-speed cutter that is mounted on a 1/8 inch steel shaft. This bit can be used to cut plastic, Corian, wood, Sheetrock, laminates and aluminum.

Diamond Engraving Point

The diamond engraving point is designed for engraving. It's also for use on hard surfaces and for continuous use. It can also be used on soft metals such as aluminum. It can cut fine lines and deep grooves.
