How to Make Soup in a Mason Jar

A bowl of hot, hearty homemade soup is an ideal meal on a chilly day. Soup is economical, and especially when it is homemade, it can be loaded with healthful, fresh items such as vitamin-packed vegetables, lean meats and whole grains or legumes. Soup controls hunger without many calories, making it a perfect diet food. It is versatile, stores well and is convenient. When homemade soup is presented in a jar, it can even become a thoughtful, healthy gift.
