Steak Restaurants in Lincoln, Nebraska

The capital of Nebraska, Lincoln has a large number of restaurants to serve its quarter of a million inhabitants. Their choices range from Indian to Thai to Mexican food. But as elsewhere in the United States, often what Nebraskans want on a night out is a good steak. There are plenty of steakhouses catering to this desire.

The Steakhouse

Located in a cozy clapboard house, The Steakhouse was one of Lincoln's first steakhouses. In fact, it first started serving beef in 1949. The original structure of the restaurant and traditional decor remain. The menu includes certified USDA Angus beef, in cuts from filet to ribeye to T-bone. As side dishes you can get baked potato, rice pilaf or steamed veggies. You can add fresh sauteed mushrooms or onions to your plate, or add shredded cheese, bacon bits or scallions to your potato. Dress is casual. The Steakhouse 34th & Cornhusker Hwy. Lincoln, NE 68504 402-466-2472 thesteakhouselincoln.com

Misty's Steakhouse and Brewery

Misty's Steakhouse and Brewery opened in 2003 right in the heart of downtown. It is convenient for people heading to Lincoln's museums or the theater. The dining room is elegant casual, with fresh flowers and lots of light from floor-to-ceiling windows. Its specialty dish is prime rib, also available in a surf and turf version. If you can't decide on appetizers, try a mixed plate for two to four people with blackened prime rib, artichoke hearts, buffalo wings, mozzarella sticks and onion rings. There are a few vegetarian options as well as a long wine list and beer brewed on site. Misty's Steakhouse and Brewery 200 North 11th St. Lincoln, NE 68508 402-476-7766 mistyslincoln.com
