How to Make a Fall Floral Wall Basket
Bring the wonderful color of fall indoors with this beautiful fall wall basket. With this space-saver there will be no need to keep moving the fall centerpiece off the table to make room for dinner. This craft takes less than an hour to make, and let's you enjoy the colors and scents of fall all season long.
Select a wall basket that will complement your space and decor. Wall baskets have a flat side that lays flush against a wall and can be found in most craft stores. Gather some leaves from your yard and clean them off. Dip the vein side of the leaf in some paint, and press against your basket, leaving an imprint. Repeat with various leaves to create a design on the entire outside of the basket. Set aside to dry.
Cut a piece of Styrofoam to fit inside the basket. Place five or six drops of scented oil on the Styrofoam, and insert in the basket. You can use more or less of the scent according to how strong you like it. You also can add more when the scent starts to fade later.
Place the fall flowers in the basket first. Put some of the taller flowers toward the back, and bend some to hang over the edge of the basket a little. Then add some colorful leaf stems between the flowers. Make sure your basket is full.
Break wooden skewers so they are tall enough to just go over the flowers. Paint them in fall colors. When the paint is dry, put some hot glue on the broken end, and stick it into a cinnamon stick. Hold it in place until the glue takes hold. Let the glue dry for about 10 to 15 minutes.
Place the apple, pumpkin, and cinnamon sticks in various places throughout your arrangement. You can find pumpkin and apple sticks in the floral department of your local craft store. Hang your basket on the wall.
