Sending greeting cards is a Christmas tradition for many people, but you don't have to be restricted to the boring store-bought variety. Whether creating a religious Christmas theme, fashioning a Santa Claus theme, or going the nontraditional route, with a little creativity, everyone can create their own personalized Christmas photo greeting card to send to friends and family.
A Christmas nativity scene can be easily re-created by a family with a new baby, whether the child is male or female. The new child will depict the infant Jesus in the manger, and older brothers and sisters can depict Joseph and Mary. The photo can be taken in a stable or similar setting, or photo editing software can be used to replace the background.
A Santa-themed photo greeting card can be pulled off by any couple or family. A couple without children can dress up as Santa and Mrs. Claus. A family that includes children could pose for a photo with the children dressed as elves in Santa's workshop. Family pets would make a great accessory to the photo, as they could be dressed up as reindeer using antler headbands.
The nontraditional Christmas card route is sure to earn a few laughs. If the family resides or is on vacation in a tropical location, they could dress in their swimming suits and Santa hats and pose on the beach. Instead of a traditional snowman, create a "sandman" complete with hat and scarf. Another idea would be to build a snowman, but dress it up with sunglasses and a bikini.
