How to Make a Rudolph the Reindeer Craft

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer makes a very attractive Christmas decoration. This simple reindeer craft project can be made from construction paper. This is a good craft project to do with the kids, especially on days when the weather is bad. For best results, do all the cutting yourself and let the kids do the gluing.

Step 1

Protect your workspace with newspaper.

Step 2

Trace your hands on a white piece of construction paper.

Step 3

Draw the shape of a reindeer face on brown construction paper.

Step 4

Cut out the hand prints and the reindeer's face just inside the pencil lines you have created.

Step 5

Place the reindeer's face over red construction paper, and use it as a guide to draw a Santa Claus hat for the reindeer. Cut out the hat and set it aside.

Step 6

Draw some eyes on the scrap pieces of white construction paper left over from the hand print cutouts. Draw a nose and a mouth for the reindeer on some red construction paper. Draw a brim and a ball for the Santa hat from the white scrap paper, and make some small blue eyeballs. Cut them out carefully.

Step 7

Apply glue to the reverse side of the features with the glue stick and attach the features to the front of the reindeer craft.

Step 8

Trim the bottom portion of the hand prints so they look like reindeer's antlers.

Step 9

Glue the brim and ball to the Santa hat, and glue the antlers onto the reindeer craft in back. Allow the craft to dry completely.

Step 10

Display the Rudolph the Reindeer craft in a window or on a wall or door with tape.
