How to Make Your Own Christmas Centerpieces

You can spend a lot of money on a purchased Christmas centerpiece from a florist. You can even spend a lot of money on materials for making your own centerpiece. However, a simple idea can have you searching through your holiday decorations, and even in your cupboards. If you do need to purchase additional items for this Christmas centerpiece, they will be nominal.

Step 1

Search through your kitchen cupboards for a large, clear glass container. It can be a bowl, vase, stemmed cake plate, or even a punch bowl.

Step 2

Gather pinecones from under your (or a friend's) pine tree. You can also purchase plain pine cones at your local craft store. Use a cloth to rub off any debris from the pine cones.

Step 3

Spray paint the pine cones white. Let them dry.

Step 4

Dab a bit of glue onto the tips of each of the pine cone chips, and sprinkle silver, gold or clear glitter onto the glue. Let them dry completely.

Step 5

Rummage through your Christmas decoration bins for round glass ornaments. Use all one color that are different sizes, or mix and match colors and styles.

Step 6

Place the pine cones and glass ornaments into the clear glass container. Intermix the pine cones with the ornaments throughout.
