When Is a Split Live Oak Tree Considered Dangerous?

Broken, damaged limbs--particularly large limbs--pose an immediate danger to people and property beneath, the moment they appear. Split crotches can be repaired, but an arborist may need to evaluate and perform the repairs. Damaged areas are in danger of invasion by insects and disease, which can further weaken portions of the tree, increasing the danger.
