Because 27 cubic feet equals 1 cubic yard, a cubic yard of topsoil would cost about $35, plus any tax, as of 2010. Purchasing a cubic yard of loose topsoil from a landscape supply company costs about $31, plus a delivery charge of anywhere from $15 to $25, as of 2010.
