According to the horticulture department at North Carolina State University, Roundup is the best general purpose weed killer for North Carolina. They advise that you apply it to weeds, taking care not to spray it on the surrounding plants and flowers. Roundup is manufactured by The Scotts Company and is available in discount and home improvement stores.
