Iris bulbs can be forced inside to bloom in a glass centerpiece without soil. Nestle the iris bulb in some pebbles or glass marbles placed in a glass container. Pour enough water into the container so the water just touches the root plate on the bottom of the bulb. Do not immerse the bulb in water.
