Do Plants Grow Best in Salt, Tap or Sugar Water?

Most plants generally grow best in tap water. Marine plants, such as algae or kale, grow best in salt water, while other plants die if exposed to too much salt. Sugar water causes plants to wilt or die, because the excess sugar in the soil prevent roots from fully absorbing water.
