When to Spray Shiro Plum Trees

Shiro is a Japanese yellow plum. As with all varieties of plums, it suffers many problems such as plum curculio, mites, aphids, brown rot, leaf spot and black knot. In spring before growth begins, spray the plum tree with a fungicide as well as horticultural oil. This kills any fungi and pests over-wintering on plants. Treat insect problems year-round as they occur.
