Mandarin orange fruit matures several months after the trees blossom in the spring. Willowleaf trees have ripe, yellow-orange October and November fruit. King mandarin oranges from Vietnam take much longer, developing a deep orange skin while maturing in February and March. Satsuma cultivars ripen between October and December. (
