When Can You Plant Tulip Bulbs in Southern Ohio?

Tulips, like all spring-flowering bulbs, should be planted when the soil temperature at planting depth is around 60 degrees. In southern Ohio, the best time to plant is late September or October. Purchase bulbs early in the fall and store in a cool location such as a basement until planting time.
