Soil temperatures should be between 50 to 87 degrees Fahrenheit when planting annual ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum). The ryegrass seed germinates in 6 to 10 days at these temperatures. Annual ryegrass is planted in the spring from February to April and in the fall from August to early October.
