When to Feed & Put Grub Killer on a Lawn

The best time to fertilize your lawn is in late summer and fall. Some people will fertilize in early spring, however, which could use up too much of the grass' stored energy. Watch your lawn for grub damage late in the summer, usually around July. If you notice areas starting to brown, apply an insecticide.
