Tomatoes and other fruit-bearing vegetables need a daily minimum of 5 hours of full sunlight. Indoor gardeners can purchase commercial grow lights from a garden store or catalog, but a sunny window that lets in 5 to 8 hours of sunlight each day can support a tomato crop all year long.
