When Is it Best to Apply Pre-Emergent Crabgrass Herbicides?

Crabgrass (Digitaria spp.) is an annual grassy weed that grows in lawns and gardens. The best way to control it is to apply a pre-emergent herbicide before the crabgrass seeds germinate, which is typically around the first of March.
