How Long for a Date Palm Seed to Germinate?

Date palm seeds germinate in one to two months. Plant the seed 1/2 inch deep in moist potting soil and place in a warm, dark area. Keep the soil moist until the first thick grass-like leaf appears, and then move the pot into an area with bright light.
