Native to China, India and Vietnam, sweet oranges (Citeus sinensis) thrive in the warm climates of Florida and California. Their fragrant white blossoms perfume the air only in the spring, while their fruit ripens in fall and winter. Many orange trees have flowers and unharvested fruit at the same time.
