How Often Should You Water Tomato Plants Grown in a Container on the Porch?

Tomatoes need plenty of water. Inconsistent watering, however, can stunt plants and encourage disease. Check the soil daily. Water should drain easily through soil, leaving it moist, not soggy. Depending on the weather, soil and container, most pot-grown tomatoes do best when watered every day or every other day.
